EMPOWER
Established in 1984, Women in Film Dallas is a non-profit membership organization and part of the global community of Women in Film and Television International. Our mission is to empower, promote, and mentor professional women in the film, television, and screen-based media industry.
- Annually, through our non-profit Scholastic Grant Fund, we award thousands of dollars in scholarships to female students and grants to women filmmakers.
Topaz Film Festival (In person and virtual)
- Each fall we produce the Topaz Film Festival to showcase the work of women filmmakers. There is no other festival like this in Texas or its surrounding states.
- The Topaz Film Festival will run from October 18th - 29th, 2024 in person and virtually October 20th - 27th!
- As appropriate we recognize outstanding contributors to Women in Film Dallas and professionals in the industry through our Topaz Awards.

To become a sponsor for this year's Topaz Film Festival email artwork to topazfilmfest@gmail.com. Artwork and payment are due Friday, September 29th, 2024 by 11:59pm. Custom sponsorship opportunities are available to fit your needs and budget and are listed at the link below. Please email topazfilmfest@gmail.com to arrange details.
- Annually, we also produce Public Service Announcements free of charge for local charities.
We do all of this without staff or brick and mortar, led by a volunteer board and members who donate their time and talents.

PROMOTE
A potential audience of nearly 10,000 and 80,000 impressions per year.
- Annually our events attract 800-1000 attendees.
- 2000 email contacts in our database and approximately 1000 members on our Yahoo listserv.
- Social media presence with over 3000 Likes on Facebook and over 3000 Followers on Twitter.
MENTOR
Our active membership of nearly 200 is diverse and represents the entire spectrum of the industry. Our members are producers, directors, writers, cinematographers, performers, makeup artists, script supervisors, agents, attorneys, vice presidents, composers, editors, costume designers, educators, executives, CPAs, and the list goes on.
90% Women, 80% Industry Professionals, and 20% Students.
If you are looking to mentor or be mentored, sign up for our 2024 summer mentorship program by following the instructions below!
- Email membership@wifdallas.org + vp@wifdallas.org with the subject line: “WIFD SUMMER MENTORSHIP - First/Last Name”.
- Reply YES with your best contact info.
- List which career area(s) you might be most interested in discussing (e.g., directing, producing, writing, production design, cinematography, editing, production assistant, hair and makeup, acting, script supervising, etc.). “The business in general!” is an option as well!
- If you have any questions about the program, please include those in your response and we will respond.
