Submissions are now open for the 13th Annual Chick Flicks Festival.
The short film competition is on Thursday, October 2, 2014.
 
The deadline to submit your short is
August 28th.

CATEGORY GUIDELINES
Our 2014 categories are Female Filmmakers and Flicks by Texas Chicks.
Female Filmmakers is open to shorts directed by a woman. Shorts are also eligible if women are in two (2) or more of the following above-the-line positions: writer, producer, director of photography or editor. 
 
Flicks by Texas Chicks requires all of the above and ties to Texas. Official selections in this category qualify for the Texas Award.
 
WIFD members and Students (ID required) should enter in one of the two categories and pay the discounted fee.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
All official selections will be notified mid- September 2014.

Screenings will be held at the Angelika Film Center in Dallas.

The Best of Fest winner will receive a $1000.00 award.

The Best Student winner will be awarded a $300.00 award sponsored by Black Irish Girl Productions.

The Texas Award and Audience Choice winners will receive prize packages. 

SUBMISSION INFORMATION
We accept narrative, documentary, animated, and experimental short films in any genre with a runtime of 35 minutes or less. Films must have been completed after January 1st, 2012. No premiere status required.

Our 2014 categories are Female Filmmakers and Flicks by Texas Chicks.

WIFD Member: $15.00

Regular Deadline: August 14, 2014

Non-WIFD Member: $35.00
Student: $30.00
WIFD Member: $25.00

Final Deadline: August 28, 2014

Non-WIFD Member: $40.00
Student: $35.00
WIFD Member: $30.00 


This year your entry will also be considered for submission to the Women in Film and Television International Showcase that will screen March 2015 in various cities around the world. 

*MUST BE A MEMBER OF WIFD TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THE WIFTI SHOWCASE*

 

What to submit:
  • Your Short Film - No DVDs. We only accept password protected links (i.e., Vimeo or YouTube)
  • Filmmaker Bio - Word or PDF attachment
  • Film Synopsis (max 50 words) - Word or PDF attachment
  • Production Stills (1-3) - highest quality jpeg attachment
