Creative Producing & Crowdfunding
You've got the script you want to produce and you're slowy building your army of filmmakers, but how are you going to pay for it all? Join us on Saturday, June 16th for a doubleheader of financing bootcamp. You'll learn how to get creative with financing with a case study from Dallas-based film producers and how to utilize crowdfunding. Most of these speakers are women who are making things happen for other women...these are some folks you want to meet! The sessions kick off on Saturday, June 16th11:00A (at the Oak Cliff Cultural Center, 223 W Jefferson Blvd, Dallas, TX 75208) and there's a FREE lunch provided. Here's the line-up: 11:00A The Business of Creative Producing - Holly Herrick, Head of Film & Creative Media atAustin Film Society This will be a case study featuring the AFS grant recipient Never Goin’ Back and its producers. Sponsored by the Austin Film Festival. Co-Presented by Women in Film Dallas. 12:30P Free lunch sponsored by Gloria's included for attendees following the panel. 1:00P Crowdfunding to Build Independence - Emily Best, founder and CEO of crowdfunding platform Seed&SparkThinking about making an amazing movie or show? GREAT! We wanna watch it. But first: how are you going to fund it, and - when you’re finished - who’s going to watch it? Most people think about crowdfunding simply as a fundraising tool, but it is so much more than that: it’s a great way to start (or continue) developing a direct connection with your audience, which, as we all know, is essential for building a sustainable film career that leads to distribution and the opportunity to, you know, make more than one thing. Sponsored by Seed&Spark and G-Technology. Co-Presented by Women in Film Dallas. In this workshop, you’ll learn: Why audience building is essential for a film career (and crowdfunding) How to define, find, talk to, and grow your audience How to prepare for a successful crowdfunding campaign (incl. goal, incentives, communication plan) Why staged financing might be right for you These workshops are FREE to everyone but seating is limited. Please sign-up to save your spot: The Business of Creative Producing and Crowdfunding to Build Independence . You must sign up for both separately through Pre-Kindle. The ticketing is done through Oak Cliff Film Festival. Women in Film Dallas is co-presenting this workshop series and we want you to take advantage of this opportunity.
