2018 PSA Script Competition
Every year, WIFD produces a PSA for a North Texas non-profit. This year, we have selected Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center. Now we need your vision!
DARCC’s comprehensive program includes counseling, crisis intervention and advocacy for those whose lives have been affected by sexual violence. DARCC is also committed to social change through the implementation of prevention, education and outreach in the community. DARCC acknowledges that different experiences can impact survivors and their loved ones in a variety of ways and works to provide the best level of care and support. The organization focuses on meeting the unique needs of all populations including LBGT, the disabled and the elderly.

Prize: Bragging rights, have your script produced, award potential (watch our previous award-winning spots), and an invitation to set* as our special guest. Winning entry will be produced, aired on local media, and posted on WIFD's YouTube, website and social media.
*Travel and lodging expenses are the responsibility of winner and will not be reimbursed.
Who Can Enter: Contest is open to anyone who can tell a visually impactful story. WIFD members and non-members in Texas and beyond are encouraged to submit.
DEADLINE: Please submit your scripts to psa@wifdallas.org by Friday, May 4 at 8pm (Central).
FEES: WIFD Members $0 / Non-Members $10
Payment (for non-members) can be made by clicking "Register".
What to Submit:
Your script should make DARCC's goal and vision come to life. As we are producing 30 and 60 second versions of the PSA, please submit one of each. Script will be shot in one day.
Goal: To make the community aware of DARCC’s comprehensive program includes counseling, crisis intervention and advocacy for those whose lives have been affected by sexual violence.
Vision:
- Bring awareness to the benefit DARCC brings to the community.
- Show the journey a survivor may go through
- Mention services offered
- Show compassion and support, giving humanity back on "the worst day of their lives"
- Illustrate it can happen to women AND men. (In Texas: 2/5 Women, 1/5 Men)
- 74% of sexual assaults are committed by someone the survivor knows
DARCC offers community education and prevention, 24-hour support, is confidential and 100% free.
GUIDELINES
With this being a sensitive topic, we ask no children to be involved in the script or on set. Entry fee is non-refundable. More than one entry may be submitted. Each must be submitted separately. Submissions will not be returned. All submissions must be the original work of the person submitting and entrant must agree to sign documents necessary for production by WIFD if selected.
