Peace in the Pandemic: Yoga for Ultimate Relaxation & Rejuvenation

Let’s admit it, life is pretty crazy right now.  You could probably use a vacation.

In lieu of that island get-away, join us for a mental mini-vacay as we unwind and relax with a tranquil evening of Restorative yoga and meditation.

Put on your comfy PJs, grab a few fluffy, thick pillows and get ready to enjoy some super comfy, easy stretches that will have you floating on a wave of relaxation.  No sunscreen required.

In Restorative Yoga, we use props (in our case pillows) and hold each yoga pose for up to five minutes allowing the body to gently open and relax.  This is a healing, therapeutic practice that will leave you feeling refreshed and ready to climb into bed for a peaceful night of sleep.

What to Expect

  • A gentle, easy yoga practice - great for all levels, including beginners
  • Breathing techniques to energize the body and calm the mind
  • Simple meditation techniques to cut loose stress and anxiety
  • A community of peace-loving individuals

We’ll begin the evening at 6:30pm with a community chat, introductions and a quick discussion on yoga by our presenter, yoga instructor and meditation facilitator, Anietie Antia-Obong.

Yoga begins at 7pm.  Make sure to join us for an evening of tranquility to stretch and loosen up those tight, sore, achy spots and soothe the mind.

Anietie Antia-Obong
Yoga Teacher / Meditation Facilitator
Founder, Heart of Love Yoga

My interest in yoga began when I discovered a yoga book on my family’s bookshelf.  Piqued with interest, I read it cover to cover and twisted my body into every pose in the book I possibly could.  Not long after that, I began intensely studying yoga philosophy and practicing meditation. These practices quickly became my happy place.  And the “magic” of this journey inspired me to become a yoga teacher and meditation facilitator in order to share my love of these practices with yogis of all ages, including children and teens.  In our fast-paced world where so many of us (and especially our youth) are over scheduled, stressed out and overwhelmed, yoga and meditation are the perfect practices to bring greater peace, balance and harmony into our lives.

I’ve been blessed to train with extraordinary teachers including Srivatsa Ramaswami (Vinyasa Krama Yoga), Ricky Tran (Krama Yoga), yogees yoga 4 kids, Rainbow Yoga, Dr. Sonia Sequeira, Dr. Kenneth Rose and Dr. Joe Loizzo (Embodied Philosophy).

I’m also a certified laughter yoga leader and a Reiki Level II energy healing practitioner, trained in Usui Reiki by Holli Blackwell of Quantum Visions.

Becoming a yoga teacher is one of the best things I've ever done!  Teaching weekly yoga classes for adults and youth in studios around the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex, as well as conducting workshops, facilitating meditations and doing speaking engagements has been a complete joy.  With each class and event, my goal is to help you discover a healthier, happier, more peaceful, loving you!

When not practicing yoga and meditation, you’ll find me
working in film, television, theatre and the web as a director/producer/writer.
