The core of this event will revolve around promoting wellness and addressing common concerns such as anxiety, stress, and mood management. Dr. Remina Panjwani will give a wellness talk focusing on practical strategies to improve mental health and overall well-being, followed by a relaxing sound bath meditation. We will experience a Kava tasting to close out the evening. Kava enhances the calming effects of the meditative modality. Our goal is not only to offer relaxation but also to inspire people to prioritize their mental and emotional well-being in an inviting social setting.
The kava plant (Piper methysticum) is a tropical shrub from the South Pacific, traditionally used for its calming effects. Its roots are made into a drink that reduces anxiety, promotes relaxation, and enhances mood. Kava provides similar effects to alcohol, like reducing stress and enhancing social interaction, without the negative toxic effects. Its active compounds, called kavalactones, also help with mild pain management and sleep issues.
If you joined us for Dr. Remina Panjwani’s Filmmaker Wellness Talk Part One in July, you know how good Part Two will be in person! See you on November 11th!
WIFDallas is organizing and promoting this event to share information and foster community engagement. While this event may include discussions about kava, its uses, and cultural significance, the organization does not endorse or recommend the use of kava for any particular purpose. Participants are encouraged to consult with medical and wellness professionals before considering the use of kava, as its effects may vary, and it may interact with certain health conditions or medications.
Come and be well with WIFD!
